Ashbourne Insurance Services are a family run, general, Insurance Broker, based in two locations, Cheshunt and Hoddesdon in Hertfordshire. Ashbourne Insurance Services have been established for over 25 years and provide a range of Business Insurance and Personal Insurance products and an Insurance Claim Advisory Service.
We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority and as an Independent Insurance Broker we are free to search all the leading insurers to get cover tailored to your specific needs, at a price to suit your budget.
We pride ourselves on our personal approach and guarantee that all our clients will be dealt with by a trained professional who can assist with any enquiry, cover, payment, claim, etc.

Peter joined Ashbourne Insurance over twelve years ago, previously working in the travel industry. Originally based at the Hoddesdon office as Sales & Marketing Manager, Peter now works alongside his fellow directors and is responsible for all day-to-day activities of both the Cheshunt & Hoddesdon offices. Peter is a keen sports fan, particularly football and given the time he would like to travel more. Peter says he enjoys all food & drink, some would say a little too much! |
Sarah joined Ashbourne in 1992 following a successful career working within an international bank in the city of London. Sarah was initially involved with the installation of a new computer system and now takes on the day-to-day responsibility for all administration and financial functions of the business. A keen networker, Sarah can always be found out & about promoting the Ashbourne name and she likes nothing more than spending her spare time with family. |
Matt has been with Ashbourne Insurance since 1994, originally working in the Hoddesdon office before a brief sabbatical travelling the world and being transferred to Cheshunt in 1999. He now oversees all aspects of the day-to-day sales activities for the Cheshunt office as well as assisting in the development of both Commercial & Hoddesdon offices. His interests include travel, eating out, music, golf and squash. |

Alan has been with Ashbourne Insurance for over 25 years and a Director for over 5. His wealth of experience & knowledge is invaluable to the day-to-day operations at Cheshunt and to the new management team. Alan likes most sports and is a very keen golfer being a member of a local club and even occasionally winning competitions. |
Mr. Mitchell Johnson Mitchell is the youngest member of the Ashbourne team; he has been working within the retail insurance industry for over two years now and is settling in to the role of sales advisor nicely. Mitchell joined Ashbourne from another insurance company, Endsleigh Insurance Services. In his spare time Mitchell likes to watch TV, play golf or go out with friends. |
Jeff Joined Ashbourne in the early 90’s, having previously worked for Barclays in the London market, redundancy followed as many will recall. Luckily for me I persuaded Ashbourne they needed a Commercial department to service their non-domestic clients – Interests include SCUBA diving, football, eating and drinking preferably whilst on holiday. |

Emma joined Ashbourne Insurance Seven and a half years ago after finishing school. Originally employed as an office junior she has progressed through the ranks and now works as a Customer Advisor. Emma enjoys socialising with friends, shopping and as always would love to travel more if she could afford it. Emma is currently on maternity leave, please refer any enquiry to the Cheshunt office |
Tracey joined the Ashbourne commercial team in 2002 and has worked within the insurance industry for over 15 years. Based at the Cheshunt office, Tracey works alongside the Commercial sales manager, helping to administer all the business written. Tracey enjoys motor racing, both bikes and cars and begrudgingly attends aerobics once a week and hopes to travel all over the world eventually.

Sue joined Ashbourne Insurance in March 1996, working in the sales department at the Cheshunt office but is now part of the administration department. It is Sue’s job to make sure we have all the relevant documentation from our clients. Once a week I visit our Hoddesdon office to check their paperwork. I enjoy watching football, socialising at my local and travelling. |

Emma joined Ashbourne in January 2006, having previously worked in the insurance industry for 15 years. Emma has progressed to office manager which involves the everyday running of the office, making sure the staff is working to there full potential and that clients are getting a professional and friendly service. Emma likes eating out, shopping, entertaining friends at home, loves all sorts of music especially Joe Longthorne, which most people laugh at!

I have been with Ashbourne for 13 years, up until recently based in the Commercial Department at our Cheshunt office, and have now moved to our Hoddesdon office with a brief to expand our Commercial Insurance account. Prior to my service with Ashbourne, I spent 9 years with the Prudential as 'The man from the Pru'. I Love meeting and taking on new clients and spreading the Ashbourne word. |
Before joining Ashbourne Marianne was development underwriter for insurance giant Royal & Sun Alliance for 15 years. Marianne brings with her a huge amount of experience and she will be a great asset to developing our commercial account at the Hoddesdon office. Marianne is a keen runner and enjoys nothing more than pounding the pavement! |

Rob joined Ashbourne Insurance in Hoddesdon in September 2007 bringing with him over 30 years experience in the insurance industry. Rob's main area of experience has been gained in the Household Insurance market however; he is extremely capable in all aspects of Personal Lines. Rob is a family man having been married for 18 years and has an 11 year old daughter. Away from work Robs’ interests are reading, watching TV (particularly sport) and trying to help his daughter with her homework!

Mr. Gary Jaycock Gary started at Ashbourne Insurance eight years ago, although he has spent many more years in the insurance industry. He’s one of our experienced sales advisers and can be found perched on the counter at Hoddesdon, ready to assist at any time. Gary enjoys the gym, reading, music & films. He also possesses a vast repertoire of appalling jokes! |

Joan joined Ashbourne Insurance some two years ago having previously worked for a number of brokers in the insurance industry, always in administration which is her favourite field of work. Her family keeps her busy and all are football fanatics but when relaxing a good book in her garden on a fine day is the ideal way to unwind. |

Sue Hollis has worked for Ashbourne Insurance for 15 years originally at the Cheshunt office but now working for both offices based at Hoddesdon. Sue is Personal Assistant to Peter Smits (Managing Director) and Sarah Smits (Financial Director). Sue likes needlework and reading when she has time as outside of work her life is fairly family orientated especially with parents and 5 grandchildren. |
